Dr. Crowder's research centers on predation and food web interactions, mechanisms underlying recruitment variation in fishes, population and food web modeling in conservation biology, and interdisciplinary approaches to marine conservation.

Dr. Leifer's engineering design thinking research is focused on instrumenting design teams to understand, support, and improve design practice and theory.

The Steinmetz lab's research is directed at understanding such complex traits; to do so, they develop novel genomic approaches to investigate the molecular processes that link genotype to phenotype, identify the underlying factors, and quantify their contributions.
